Tec 40 Diver Course

The Tec 40 Diver course consists of three knowledge development sections, three practical application sessions, and four training dives.

You'll learn about:

• Technical diving risks and responsibilities
• Technical diving equipment, proper rigging, and setup.
• Gas planning, oxygen limits, and decompression planning.
• Technical diving techniques and emergency procedures, such as dealing with free flows, manifold leaks and out of gas situations

Prequisites

• Be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation)
• Be a PADI Enriched Air Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation)
• Be a PADI Deep Diver  (or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation)
• Have a minimum of 30 logged dives, of which at least 10 dives were made with enriched air below 18m
• Have obtained an Australian Standard Dive Medical from a dive doctor.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

• Use decompression software, and dive computers, to plan and make decompression dives with no more than 10 minutes of total compression, to 40 metres
• Use a single cylinder of decompression gas with up to 50% opxygen to add conservatism to the required decompression.

• PADI Tec Deep Diver Crewpack or Tec Deep Digital Manual
• Equipment Setup and Key Skills DVD
• PADI Tec diver planning slates
• PADI TecRec dive planning checklist (2 slates)

You'll continue to use these during Tec 45, and Tec 50, courses.
